March, 2001 Old Headlines

March 21st, 2001- (Typoed that date earlier, those of you who may have noticed.) Just saw the last of the Sopranos first season episodes. I've finished the whole season now... can't wait for season two to come out on tape!

The biggest piece of news. I've got ALL of the 2001 screenshots uploaded, except possibly the very latest batch. I'm really not so sure, because there were so damn many of them. I think I prepped and posted something like 40 screenshots in the last hour. They're worth viewing. Of course, they're available on the main site, but I'm hosting them too for your perusal.

Like you, I look forward to making screenshots of my own!

There's more work to do over the next few days. Still need to get those links. Talk to you guys later.

March 20th, 2001- I've received a ton of advice on how to better this site. You'll see those suggestions implemented soon.

I finally got an interview with a good company. It's an advertising agency. They want me to write some copy for them... but I've had to brainstorm a few ad campaigns first as part of a "test". No, it's not free work. The three tests are clearly just tests. I doubt they'll be running a 60 second TV spot on why they should hire me for example. Hehe..

Will get those screenshots posted this century. It's going to take a lot of work, but it'll be worth it. Also going trolling for links I'm missing and thinking about some fun competitions for everyone during the wait.

March 15th, 2001- Wow. I stopped by the forum and saw a really intelligent discussion going on about trying to make it a better place. Ironically, the moment I opened my mouth someone went out of their way to jump all over me.

Whatever happened to common courtesy? Did it go out the window? I don't know... I do know one thing. I'll be on that forum more often, AND I'll be making more of an effort to make the forum a better place. I think there were some decent guys and gals there who actually wanted to contribute and make something of a community. I should be more active about encouraging that. And I will.

N-Style added this regarding map editors, it's a must read.

Look for all of the 2001 screenshots to be posted in the next two days.

March 14th, 2001- Be sure to check out my personal Web site when you get a chance. I'm keeping a personal journal with my insights, some writing, stuff like that there. It's not completely finished (especially the "Writing" and "Ireland" sections), but it's getting there. Thanks.

March 12th, 2001- Got the old screenshots reorganized, sized and set up the way I want 'em over at the Oriental Theater. Now that the HTML code is clean, it'll be a snap to put in all the screenshots from 2001. That'll be ready sometime soon.

I've been watching the Sopranos. I don't have HBO. I started renting copies from Hollywood Video. Well, I've never seen the series before, and I just gotta say... classic. The whole show is a class act. I get through the first six episodes, return one of the tapes and EVERY ONE OF THEM IS CHECKED OUT.

Next time I'm in there I'LL be the one snapping all the remaining first season episodes, I can tell ya that!

March 5th, 2001- Wasted no time. Got you the new character info from the original site. You can check it out with some other resources over at the informant's corner.

Now I'm DONE with the whining thing. Got no job. School's giving me a bunch of flak. What else is there to do? Simple. Get over it.

Course, I ain't running this show for free, you know. Therefore, I'm going to start demanding payment for you visiting my site. You heard me right! I want you guys an' gals ta start sending me e-mail, and I mean lots of it, with either-

1. Funny true stories about yourselves to get me through the day.

2. A kind word now and then.

3. Any job leads for a tech writer/Webmaster/tech junkie.

4. Some free tickets to Europe so I can travel. I'm bored here, man!

Best trip I ever took; last year, early March this time of year I flew from my home in Michigan to Ireland. What a beautiful country. Anyway, I'd really love to get back to Europe to see some castles, that sort of thing. That or Japan. Or Australia. I'm not picky here, people. :)

I am, will, and shall be...

March 4th, 2001- I was pleasantly surprised to see that my interview with Jay has gone over well with most of you guys, despite it being a bit "dated". I don't come by the forum much (well, at all these days), but I thought to peek about today. I actually wanted to see if anyone had seen my "Formay" strip. Hehe...

Pictures... uh, yeah. Well, the HTML coding is not so hot there right now, and I want to correct that. However, I also need to work on my study of C++, Middle English, German, developing my Medieval Library Web site, writing new music for my band, possibly ditching my host for another site (and won't THAT be a project) and oh, yes, finding another job. So... I'll get more photos up there.

All right, enough whining. I'll get the site cleaned up a bit Tuesday. On the plus side, I am re-enrolling for college tomorrow. If I'm not working, at least I'm edumacating myself.

I have to hand it to N-Style. The man seems to be really serious about Gangsters. I lack his ability to focus, as is evidenced in previous paragraphs. I don't blame folks if they visit his site more than mine. Think of me as a cool suplementary site.

March 2nd, 2001- I saw the original for this great 1937 advertisement over at Penny Arcade. Penny Arcade is the funniest damn strip on the Web. If you haven't been there, go now.

I couldn't help but add my very own modern update to this timeless classic. Please enjoy, FORMAY!
