Notes:
Kimmer-
"Occupational name for a cooper, from an agent derivative of Middle High German kimme ‘rim’, ‘flange (on a tub)’"

Rheinbischofsheim (English translation: Rhein Bishop's Home) lies just northeast of Strasbourg, France. It has been incorporated into the city of Rheinau. There are two Rheinau's; this one is closer to the French border.

Saloma Sebastian's obituary mentions that they are from "Liedersheim", Rheinbischofsheim, Germany. I have not been able to find a single reference to Liedersheim, which translates as "Song Home" on any map. However, I do believe it may have been what came to be known as "Diersheim", which could be a shortened version of the same place-name.

Regardless, all the local tiny villages became incorporated into Rheinbischofsheim, which became a part of Rheinau in 1975. I found this reference to the incorporation on the Web:

"Freistett was incorporated into the newly created city of Rheinau January 1, 1975, along with the villages of Diersheim, Freistett, Hausgereut, Helmlingen, Holzhausen, Honau, Memprechtshofen, and Rheinbischofsheim."

The patriarch of the 6th generation aparently died when the children were young. He was a cooper by trade. The family emigrated to America via New York in 1852. They lived in Fulton, Ohio for a few years where the matriarch died. Shortly after her death, the four children separately moved to Calhoun county, Michigan. To the best of my knowledge, all Kimmer's who can trace their heritage to Calhoun county are related to these four siblings.
