Notes:
Shortly after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Industrial Security from the School of Criminal Justice, Doug Humphrey moved to Flint with his wife, Kathleen in January of 1970 to accept a position as a Security Officer with Chevrolet Motor Division. He and Kathleen raised Shawn, Amy, and Megan in the Flint area until their divorce in 1981. Doug transferred to the Flint Assembly Plant in 1984.

Doug married Barbara Cooper in 1984. Her son, Michael lived with them most of his youth, while Shawn, Amy and Megan moved to Ohio with their mother. Shawn and Megan came to live in Michigan during their high school years, with Doug, Barb and Mike. All three of the Humphrey children spent part of their summers and holidays in Michgan as they were growing up.

During lean times in the auto industry, the security department went through a transition, and Doug went through a retraining program and became an Engineering Designer. In 1995 Doug went to work for Cadillac Motor Division Engineering and later General Motors Mid-lux Division.

Doug retired in Jan. of 2000 and in July moved to the Iosco County area.
