Notes:

David was born in Jackson, Michigan in January of 1943. His father was soon drafted and joined the 42nd Rainbow Division, which trained in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His mother's closest family members were Naomi & Warren Baker. She was raised by Naomi's parents, her Aunt & Uncle. Warren drove Dave & his mother to Muskogee, Oklahoma to live until his father shipped out for France in 1944. His father and Harry Hoaglin were partners in Irwin's Pie Shop in Jackson. He returned to that business after the war and owned it until a few years prior to his death at age 60.

Dave was very active in the boy scouts while growing up and ended up with his Eagle Scout award. His scout troop did a lot of camping and canoe trips. He went to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico as a teenager and met Sergeant Southworth of the Michigan State Police. His stories sparked Dave's interest in Law Enforcement and after completing Jackson Junior College, he transferred to Michigan State University and got a degree in Law Enforcement Administration.

While at Michigan State, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and Dave was recruited by the U.S. Secret Service. He was appointed a Special Agent on May 10, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. He worked forgery, counterfeiting, organized crime and intelligence investigations until 1975, when he was transferred to Washington D.C. He was assigned to the Inspection Division, the 1976 Presidential Candidate Coordinating Center and promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Intelligence Division in 1976. He became the Special Agent in Charge of Dallas, in 1982 and returned to Washington in 1995 as an Inspector. He retired in January of 1999.

While living in Chicago, Dave moved into a townhouse next door to Pamela Ann Mahr. Pam and Dave were married on September 24, 1966 and had two daughters, Shelly born on August 20, 1967 and Marcia born on May 21, 1969.

Dave and Pam bought a home in Vienna, Virginia in 1997. They enjoy being close to their daughters, son-in-law and three grandsons.
